Mark 4:10-13 And when He was alone, they who were about Him, with the Twelve, asked Him concerning the parable.  And He said to them, To you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God. But to those outside, all these things are given in parables so that seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.  And He said to them, Do you not know this parable? And how then will you know all parables?

Mat 13:15-17  for this people's heart has become gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and they have closed their eyes, lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them."  16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see; and your ears, for they hear. 17 For truly I say to you that many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which you see, and have not seen them; and to hear what you hear, and have not heard them.

Matthew 21:33-44  Hear another parable. There was a certain housemaster who planted a vineyard and hedged it round about, and dug a winepress in it, and built a tower, and rented it to vinedressers, and went into a far country. 34  And when the season of the fruits drew near, he sent his servants to the vinedressers to receive its fruits. 35  And the vinedressers took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another. 36  Again he sent other servants, more than the first, and they did the same to them. 37  But last of all he sent his son to them, saying, They will respect my son. 38  But when the vinedressers saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir. Come, let us kill him, and get hold of his inheritance. 39  And taking him, they threw him out of the vineyard and killed him. 40  Therefore when the lord of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those vinedressers? 41  They said to Him, Bad men! He will miserably destroy them and will rent out his vineyard to other vinedressers who will give him the fruits in their seasons. 42  Jesus said to them, Did you never read in the Scriptures, "The stone which the builders rejected, this One has become the head of the corner; this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes?" 43  Therefore I say to you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you and given to a nation bringing out its fruits. 44  And he who falls on this Stone shall be broken, but on whomever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.
