Mark 4:10-13 And when He was alone, they who were about Him, with the Twelve, asked Him concerning the parable.  And He said to them, To you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God. But to those outside, all these things are given in parables so that seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.  And He said to them, Do you not know this parable? And how then will you know all parables?

Mat 13:15-17  for this people's heart has become gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and they have closed their eyes, lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them."  16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see; and your ears, for they hear. 17 For truly I say to you that many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which you see, and have not seen them; and to hear what you hear, and have not heard them.

41 Wise and foolish servants

Luke 12:42-48  And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward whom his lord shall set over his houseservants, to give them their portion of food in season? 48  Blessed is that servant when his lord comes and finds him so doing. 44  Truly I say to you that he will set him over all his possessions. 45  But if that servant says in his heart, My lord delays his coming, and shall begin to beat the male servants and women servants, and to eat and drink and to be drunk, 46  the lord of that servant will come in a day when he does not expect, and at an hour when he does not know. And he will cut him apart, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers. 47  And that servant who knew his lord's will and did not prepare, nor did according to His will, shall be beaten with many stripes. 48  But he not knowing, and doing things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For to whomever much is given, of him much shall be required. And to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.
